Detailed Description:

Tom Oerman has been a professional balloonist since 1971. Early on he flew demonstration and promotional flights for events such as the Grand Opening of the Fermi National Accelerator Lab (also attended by 800 International scientists).
He was the first FAA Designated Examiner for hot air balloons, evaluating newly trained pilots eager to acquire a license. ln 1972 he went full-time in ballooning with his first corporate account for Thermogas, a large midwest propane distributor. The promotion was a record attempt contest ("Guess how long he can stay in the air,"). On November 28, 1973, he established a world record for distance in an AX-6 balloon; 9 hours and 32 minutes (The contest winner won a years supply of propane to heat their house and a new gas grill).

Contracts continued with Bandag Retread, Orville Readebacker's Gourmet Popping Corn (Yes, Virginia, it Was shaped like a piece of popped corn), Happy Joes Ice Cream & Pizza Parlors and 1st National Bank of the Quad Cities.
Through the early years, Tom's passengers were usually press and media people.
Today he provides passenger flights over Hunterdon County, New Jersey from a state Licensed Balloonport located at the Clinton Elks in western New Jersey.
We welcome you to join us on a magnificent ballooning adventure over the beautiful hills and valleys of Hunterdon County with one of the most experienced pilots in the country.
